IN CONVERSATION|RHYS WHITFIELD

Name|Rhys Patrick Whitfield
Age|21
Hometown|Cambridge, United Kingdom

How did you get discovered?
A friend took some photos of me for his portfolio, put them on his facebook without telling me, next thing I know, I had a message from a scouter by the name of Fletcher Harrington asking if I would like to model, all went from there...
What were you doing prior to modeling?
I was in drama school studying musical theater.
People would be surprised to know that I...
have a fear of deep sea. Well, if my feet cannot touch the bottom it freaks me out. Even in pools. There, I said it!
What's your latest obsession?
Water. Boring as it might sound, I am obsessing from being over dehydrated all the time!
Your most prize possession?
It might sound very superficial, but it is my old iPhone. It's not the phone itself, but the photos and other recordings it has on it. I got it when I came to drama school and only recently, I got a new phone, so there's a lot of memories on there!
Growing up, who did you look up to as your hero?
Growing up with my mum was really great. It was just me and her so she is definitely someone I look up to. I had a great childhood with her and never felt like I missed out so well done, mum!
When is the last time you said, "I Love You" to someone?
My girlfriend Kelly. She is at home now and I am really looking forward to go back to London and spend time with her. (Sorry, this interview was done back in July!)
Three adjectives that best describes you:
Open minded, Polite and Humorous
Describe your personal style:
I am not fussy. Just a good old shirt, slim trousers with a pair of chelsea boots and I am ready to go! I am not big on designer brands.
Your favorite place you have travel to:
New York City! I visited there with my girlfriend in April and it was a different world. As soon as the opportunity arises, we love to go visit New York City again!
Your favorite film and scene from the film:
American Psycho—Scene: The opening scene with Bateman's routine. There's just something so unsettling about it. It unlike anything I have ever seen since.
Your favorite sport:
I am not a huge sports fan as I used to be so I couldn't tell you...but Ray Lewis of the Ravens is just an inspiration. He is not just a great player but a great athlete.
If there's a destination or item you would recommend us to check out or visit about your native country/city or town, what would you recommend?
Cambridge, United Kingdom—Party at the River Cam, I am so lucky to grow up somewhere as beautiful as Cambridge.
If you were given a indie cable show, what type of show would it be? Which song would you choose as your theme song?
A show similar to the Inside The Actor's Studio but not just actors: musicians, entertainers, politicians, what goes into their day to day lives. As for the theme song, this show sounds classy so it will be playing Ravel or Chopin
Your wish for the remainder of 2015?
I can continue to do what I enjoy without worrying about money! That old devil is unfortunately at the back of my mind as I've just graduated, hopefully one day that will become reality!

Clothing: Cardigan zipper sweater by Agnes B.
