IN CONVERSATION|JONATHAN BURGER
Name|Jonathan Lewis Burger
Age|18
Hometown|Atlanta, Georgia
How did you get discovered?
I got started while I was working at a minimum wage theater job back in Georgia. A designer discovered me while I was serving him his drink and popcorn. He photographed me and allowed me to discover my passion for modeling and the fashion industry.
What were you doing prior to modeling?
Before modeling I was working at Carmike cinema and going to school for my marketing degree at Georgia Gwinnett College.
People would be surprised to know that I...
was home school up until my seventh grade and had social anxiety issues throughout most of school days up until my junior and senior years.
What's your latest obsession?
Since I came to New York, I've become much more interested in fashion, traveling, meeting new people and photography as well.
Your most prize possession?
I have a drawer filled with all the sentimental items and gifts from both past relationships and friendships. I throwed any trinkets I happen to get and place them in the drawer as a way to preserve the memories I had and the things I experienced.
Growing up, who did you look up to as your hero?
When I was growing up I want to either be a hockey player professionally or get into acting. My role models were Alexander Ovechkin and Ilya Kovalchuk for hockey and in films, actors are Chris Pine, Chris Pratt, Zachary Quinto and Will Smith.
When is the last time you said, "I Love You" to someone?
The last time I said I love you to someone outside of my family was one of my old girlfriend back in August of 2014. I don't just say it to every girl, they have to be someone very special to me or someone I see a good future with.
Three adjectives that best describes you:
Ambitious Intelligent and Kind
Describe your personal style:
My style is completely off-the-wall and doesn't follow any conventional roles. I go for what looks good to me. I generally go more towards a urban vintage type of look and stick with classics. All black outfits are also common place from me.
Your favorite place you have travel to:
My favorite place it's probably New York. This is where my modeling career officially begins!
Your favorite film and scene from the film:
Good Will Hunting—Scene: Bench scene
Your favorite sport:
Sport: Hockey
Team: Buffalo Sabres
Player: Alexander Ovechkin
If there's a destination or item you would recommend us to check out or visit about your native country/city or town, what would you recommend?
I would most likely be shopping at one of the thrift stores there or at the movie theater watching movies otherwise I would probably be running around to different shooting locations as I have networked with a lot of photographers there such as one of my favorites, Courtney Oliver.
If you were given a indie cable show, what type of show would it be? Which song would you choose as your opening theme song?
My show would be a modern Seinfeld type of show and I would be the main character but instead of being a comedian I would be a model the theme song will be similar to the themes of Seinfeld, Friends or another sitcom of the same caliber.
Craziest thing you ever done:
The craziest thing I ever done was probably Tommy Hilfiger FW2016 presentation. This was one of my first paid jobs and provided me validation that I could do well in the modeling industry. I met Neil Patrick Harris at the event and was able to talk to him for a few minutes. I also met his niece and was able to talk to her for a while and we have actually became friends as a result!
Your wish for 2016?
If I could have one wish it would be to do the campaign for Calvin Klein. It is one of my favorite brands!
