IN CONVERSATION|JACOB SUTHERS

Name|Jacob Suthers
Age|20
Hometown|Brooklyn, New York

How did you get discovered?
I actually got into modeling kind of indirectly. One of my oldest friends was signed to a mother agent (Demanti O'Bryant) and show him pictures of me from Facebook. He contacted me and I signed with him a few weeks later.
What were you doing prior to modeling?
Before modeling and still now, I was a student about to start college. Most of my time, I spend on drawing, studying or making music. I have general goals of working in the creative field.
People would be surprised to know that I...
actually didn't attend school between second grade and college. My parents pulled me out of the public school system when I was seven and since then, I have been studying independently or not at all till I start college this year!
What's your latest obsession?
Video and image editing. I've started doing collaborations and shoots with creative people I know. It's a really fun process and it is always satisfying to see the results!
Your most prize possession?
I have a hoodie given to me about five years ago as a birthday present. It is rugged and torn up but I still wears it. I recently painted all over it and it's my favorite article of clothing.
Growing up, who did you look up to as your hero?
I have a lot of influences coming from my different interests: Cristiano Ronaldo was a big one for me as a football soccer fan. From hip-hop, artists like Kid Cudi and Kanye West were influential when I was first getting into music. As far as visual arts goes, Shephard Fairey and Banksy were really interesting to me.
When is the last time you said, "I Love You" to someone?
To my mom, when I leave the house, every morning.
Three adjectives that best describes you:
Competitive, Determine and Creative
Describe your personal style:
If I had to describe I probably call it dirty and clean look. Not literally dirty but I don't need to iron my shirt to look good if that makes sense. Occasionally, I want to wear some track pants and Air Force ones but sometimes I like to get all dress up.
Your favorite place you have travel to:
I definitely never enjoyed being anywhere else as much as New York City even being born and raised here. I also really like Barcelona the time I got to visited, I had some awesome memories there.
Your favorite film and scene from the film:
Hot Fuzz with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost—I always used to re-watch it with my brother. Scene: Where the elderly folks turn bad, it always cracks me up.
2nd choice: Pulp Fiction Scene: Scenes with Christopher Walken.
Your favorite sport:
Sport: Soccer
Team: Real Madrid
Player: Cristiano Ronaldo
If there's a destination or item you would recommend us to check out or visit about your native country/city or town, what would you recommend?
Brooklyn, New YorkI spend most of my time growing up studying or doing things in Manhattan during the day because my friends live all over NYC. Manhattan was kind of the middle meeting point. As for Brooklyn, home was always the parade grounds, soccer fields or the basketball courts by my house I guess. I'd take a guest to Park Slope or South Slope for food.
If you were given a indie cable show, what type of show would it be? Which song would you choose as your theme song?
It will probably be a talk show when I get to rant/interview celebrity guests. That would be a lot of fun! The theme song will be walking out to "Best Friend"by Young Thug. I guess I will be everyone's best friend for that hour.
Craziest thing you ever done:
At the summer camp I went to when I was young teen. There was a winding Hill that lead downhill from the dining hall to the boy's cabins, it was a very steep 10 minute walk that everyone dread taking however there was also an even steeper path call Suicide Hill that could be taken which was more direct and quicker. Long story short, I spent 45 minutes lost in the woods in the middle of the night trying to climb down that hill on a dare!
Your wish for 2016?
I probably wish for a brownstone for my family to live with infinite wealth! It appears enticing but also kind of lazy wish and it usually turns out bad for the wisher!
