IN CONVERSATION|JASPER SINCLAIR
Name|Jasper Sinclair
Age|16
Hometown|Manhattan, New York City
How did you get discovered?
I got into modeling through George Brown. I bumped into him on the L train on the way home from school. He offered me a new experience which I was eager to explore.
What were you doing prior to modeling?
Before modeling I was doing what most other 16 year-old do, going to my high school classes. I also played soccer after school as well as worked part time for an art gallery in Chelsea.
People would be surprised to know that I...
I'd say something surprising about myself that people don't know is that I had an appendectomy in 6th grade with complications that left me bedridden for a month. It took me the next three years to fully build up enough strength to be comparable to other kids my age. Entering 9th grade I was 5'10'' and only 100 pounds.
What's your latest obsession?
I am not necessarily obsessed with anything. However I quite enjoy soccer and political/social analysis.
Your most prize possession?
I own a stainless steel necklace and I would say it is one of my most prized possessions. I got it in Scotland with my mother and grandmother who died shortly after of cancer. You will rarely see me not wearing it.
Growing up, who did you look up to as your hero?
Growing up, who did you look up to as your hero?
Growing up I did not have a specific idol whom I looked up to. I did however take a lot of influence from my parents, who taught me how to be respectful and prideful which I am eternally grateful for.
When is the last time you said, "I Love You" to someone?
I try to say "I love you" to my family members every day, and I will say it to friends casually as I believe it is a wonderful string of words. Yet I have not had the opportunity to say it romantically to anyone.
Three adjectives that best describes you:
Sincere, Compassionate, and Curious
Describe your personal style:
I like to dress quite casually. Often wearing jeans and a t-shirt with a simple pattern. I accessorize by wearing a bead bracelet,a leather bracelet, and the necklace I mentioned earlier.
Your favorite place you have travel to:
Hoshinoya, Karuizawa is the most favorite place I have been to. It is a resort in Japan that has such a pleasant serenity that I'd rather be nowhere else. The place I would like to visit that I have not yet been to is Venice, simply because it is such a culturally vibrant city with so much history to see.
Your favorite film and scene from the film:
Your favorite film and scene from the film:
My favorite movie would be The Lord of The Rings trilogy. It has such an amazing story, such beautiful scenes, and is so well produced, allowing it to forever hold a place in my heart. My favorite scene is however is from a different movie. It is the D-Day scene from Saving Private Ryan. I chose this because of how realistically it portrayed the horror that is war.
Your favorite sport:
My favorite sport is soccer if it wasn't already obvious. My favorite team has been since my early childhood F.C Bayern Munich. My favorite player is Thomas Muller, who is on Bayern. I like him for his exuberance and he seems like an easy person to get along with (along with being extremely skilled).
If there's a destination or item you would recommend us to check out or visit about your native country/city or town, what would you recommend?
Manhattan, New York City—If I had to take you to a place that would best represent me in NYC it would be the Highline. It is such a wonderful place with its open nature and provides a great location to walk with friends. Another thing I like about it is how it combines aspects from nature and the city.
If you were given a indie cable show, what type of show would it be?
If I got an hour of cable time for my own show I would make a news show which would try to be unbiased. It would report news and reflect the news to the social and political history that correlates to the story.
Craziest thing you ever done:
The craziest thing I have ever done is drink three large sodas and a few stall-hotdogs off of a dare just prior to riding on a roller-coaster at six-flags. Luckily I managed to keep it together.
Your wish for the remainder of 2016?
As crazy as it sounds for a person of my age, if I had one wish it would be to have a relationship that I could be confident with.
